Last week, we showed you a couple of different images pertaining to the design of the LG G6. One leak made it appear as though the phone will sport a glossy back cover, while another series of pictures revealed a phone carrying a brushed metal rear. The manufacturer might not be receiving a fair shake since it will have to use the Snapdragon 821 chipset to power the device instead of the brand spanking new Snapdragon 835 chipset. It seems that Samsung is getting first crack at the new SoC for the Galaxy S8. Hey, we have nothing against the Snapdragon 821, but obviously you would want your 2017 flagship to contain the latest chipset available.
Today, renders of the LG G6 all dressed up in Ringke bumper covers were disseminated. Because this is a bumper cover, it gives us a great look of the phone’s design. And if legit, it would appear that the image we showed you the other day of the LG G6 with a brushed metal rear is for real. There are no buttons in front, and a dual-camera set-up is in back with the two snappers flanking the flash module. Underneath the camera is the fingerprint reader, with the LG G6 branding near the bottom of the phone’s rear cover.
The volume rocker is on the left side along with the power button. On the right side is the SIM slot. The antenna lines and the 3.5mm earphone jack are seen on the top of the handset, and the bottom of the phone includes a type-C USB port that comes with a cover to protect the opening. The LG G6 is expected to feature an IP67 or IP68 certification rating. Color options, based on this leak, will be silver and black.
We expect to see the LG G6 unveiled at MWC on February 26th.
