QRIO: World’s Smallest Security Smart Lock

Some time ago on Japanese fundraiser site, Makuake, emerging brand FES (Fashion Entertainments) which offers unique and trendy watches that carry the E-ink technology . Having managed to steal the attention of gadget lovers and achieve the target funds collected, then  Sony now is presenting the newest gadget, QRIO.


In its latest project, Sony took the World Innovation Lab as a partner. QRIO itself is an electronic door locking system and certainly is the smallest in the world that can be controlled via a smartphone.

Comes with aluminum and designed with a modern minimalist look, QRIO claimed to be compatible with the entire design of the door there. With the concept of DIY (Do It Yourself), QRIO can be installed itself easily to the door without any tools need . For power, relying QRIO 4 CR123A-type lithium batteries that can be used up to 1000 days, or about three years.

Currently QRIO has passed the target for fundraising and is ready to be mass produced. The selling price of around $130
