ZUK, a sub-brand of Chinese firm Lenovo, has been teasing us with its near-bezel-less Edge smartphone for quite some time. First, an apparent press invitation seemed to indicate a December 7th unveiling — a date which came and went with no sign of said handset. More recently, another official-looking graphic has offered a December 20th launch, and given the display, rumored Snapdragon 821 processor and agreeable-sounding price point, we’re quite excited to see it in its official glory. In advance of our hopeful new announcement date, we have quite a nice close-up of the handset in white to drool over.
As you can see, the ZUK Edge will offer lots of display with an impressive screen-to-body ratio. There’s scarcely any bezel to be seen across the longer sides, and the 5.5-inch, 1080 x 1920 display is expected to be of the 2.5D variety. The home button below the display appears more sizeable than most, and should include fingerprint-sensing capabilities. On the rear, we can see the purported 13-megapixel camera and flash.
Previous specs leaks suggest a Snapdragon 821 processor with 4 or 6 GB of RAM dependent on the configuration. With prices set to start at the equivalent of $390, it may wind up being one of the cheapest handsets on the market with Qualcomm’s uppermost mobile chipset.
